Textron Marine & Land Systems has produced 3,161 ASVs for the US Army under the ASV program, and the vehicle manufacturing will take place at the company’s facilities in the New Orleans area.

The wheeled armored vehicle offers significant crew protection through its V-shaped hull design, and employment of multiple layers of armor, defending against small arms fire, artillery projectile fragments, Improvised Explosive Devices and land mines.

ASV also uses a four-wheel independent suspension system to deliver superior mobility, agility, handling and ride quality.

The ASV family of vehicles performs a variety of missions including scout, infantry personnel carrier, reconnaissance, command and control and maintenance, the company said.

Textron Marine & Land Systems is engaged in the design, production and support of advanced marine craft, armored combat vehicles, turrets and related subsystems.
