Operating at 17W, LumiGrow ECC series bulbs are expected to produce annual savings of over 500kWh compared to 100W bulbs. Additionally, the LED bulbs do not emit infrared light, thereby eliminating the need for electrical cooling requirements, which account for 80% of the energy burden on environmental chambers.
Further, the LumiGrow ECC-series bulbs provide light level that is claimed to match or exceed those of 100W incandescent bulbs and its dimming feature enables further fine-tuning of light level.
According to the company, LumiGrow ECC bulbs, which last 10 to 20 times longer than standard bulbs, help consumers recoup their investment in less than two years by reducing power usage, cooling requirements and maintenance costs.
Kevin Wells, founder and CEO of LumiGrow, said: “The academic community has clamored for a LED solution to reduce the high costs and energy demands associated with operating growth chambers and greenhouses. We’re pleased to answer the call with the LumiGrow ECC series.”
