As per the memorandum of understanding, STW will utilize BJJA’s water experts, chemists and design engineers to help analyze oilfield water and design the systems capable of treating the water so it can be reused for fracking or other oilfield uses.
STW has received brackish water analyses from Callon Petroleum for BJJA to design, engineer, and manufacture a water processing facility capable of cleaning the water to meet the fracking specs required by Halliburton.
The collaboration will enable STW to expand its existing resources to provide a sophisticated treatment system tailored for the unique needs of each oilfield customer, the company said.
Currently, the companies are engaged in various stages of water analysis and design of water treatment systems with four public oil and gas firms to clean up and reuse frack flowback, produced, and brackish water in the West Texas oilfields.
STW CEO Stanley Weiner said the use of brackish water for fracking will enable Callon to continue drilling more wells without utilizing fresh water resources.
