Betsill was previously a partner with Ernst & Young with over 30 years of experience managing relationships with the clients as the coordinating partner on numerous large publicly and privately-held companies, incorporating many Fortune 1000 companies. Additionally to his experience participating in hundreds of transactions like initial public offerings, mergers, divestitures, carve-outs, re-capitalizations and industry consolidations, he was a member of the Ernst and Young Mergers and Acquisitions Due Diligence Group for three years and initiated Southeast Area Mergers and Acquisitions Due Diligence practice.
James graduated magna cum laude from the Howard University and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Harvard University Law School. He started his career with the Atlanta law firm Troutman Sanders and specialized in the government-business transactions for clients like Georgia Power Company, Turner Broadcasting System, AT&T Corporation and Georgia Pacific Corporation. He presently is a director for the Carver State Bank of Savannah, where he serves as chairman for the Strategic Planning Committee, and is chairman of Big Bethel Village, L.P.
Mazzone is the former head of mergers and acquisitions for The Home Depot’s legal department. He has also served as vice president, general counsel and secretary for Oxford Industries, Inc. He was recognized by Chain Store magazine as one of the top 40 retail executives in the country, and was recognized by the Atlanta Magazine as one of the respected mergers and acquisitions advisers in Georgia, teaches as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law and serves as a board member for Atlanta Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
