As per the agreement, the joint venture will use Liberty’s proprietary electric power train technology to convert luxury 4X4 vehicles such as the Range Rover and the Lincoln MKZ custom limousines.

This electric power system, which uses four on-board motors and incorporates an energy storage system, will allow the EV to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in less than seven seconds with a top speed of 100mph and a travel range of 200 miles on a 6-hour charge.

The new converted EVs will also have the advantage of wireless charging that will enable the car battery to be automatically charged when parked over an induction plate without the need for plugs or power leads.

The new company, which will manufacture the vehicles at Electric Car Company’s conversion center in Springfield, Missouri, will establish new conversion centers across the US on a franchise or company-owned basis.

Electric Car Company CEO Gary Spaniak said that the company is pleased with the response from its customer base that has expressed extreme interest in a high performance luxury 4X4 and livery vehicle.
