The company will conduct the retrofit at the James C. Cleveland Federal Building and the Warren B. Rudman US Courthouse, located in Concord, New Hampshire, and the Bruce R. Thompson US Courthouse and Federal Building in Reno, and the Carson City Federal Building in Carson City, Nevada.
Lighting accounts for approximately 34 to 40% of annual energy consumption in office buildings. The energy-efficient lighting retrofits are thus expected to reduce the government buildings’ energy usage.
The projects will include installation of lightings with granular control and dimming capabilities that will allow building managers and occupants to control lights at the individual fixture level, allowing the right amount of light to be used for every application.
Lumenergi’s lights facilitate monitoring of energy consumption by communicating with the central control system, which uses open-control BACnet to integrate the building management systems. The company has already started the installation work and hopes to complete the projects by the end of 2010.
