Eka Chemicals has been using the site since 1987, to produce polyaluminium chloride products for a number of flocculation applications for water treatment, both within the pulp and paper industry and by various municipalities.
This divestment, which does not involve any of Eka Chemicals’ other water treatment activities, will allow the employees working for Eka Chemicals in Vetlanda and in Bohus to continue working for the new owner.
Eka Chemicals vice president of pulp and paper, Europe Byron Smith said that the company sees this divestment as a good opportunity for the Vetlanda plant and business to grow stronger as a consequence of the synergies that can be found under this new ownership.
