The extension of EMS 100 will broaden the ecosystem of interoperable devices within the home area network to help electric utilities offer consumers more ways to participate in demand response programs to manage and save energy, particularly during peak periods without smart meters.
The combined EMS 100 partner platform has been designed to automate home appliances and deliver usage information by device, enabling the consumers to choose how to respond to or override demand response and price signals from utilities.
The integration of plug load controllers and sub-metering systems will facilitate the measurement of both whole-home and individual appliance consumption and transmission of this information back to a Control4 EC-100 energy controller to empower consumers to manage energy use by device.
