The company will offer the $300 rebate to its customers who purchase qualified pool pumps and motors between 3 September and 31 December 2010, and install them between 3 September 2010 and 28 February 2011.
The rebates, which will return to $200 after 31 December, are available on a first-come, first-served basis while funding lasts and only single-family residences are eligible to avail these rebates.
SCE, which has enabled its customers in the past five years to save more than 5.6 billion kilowatt-hours of energy through various programs and services, is offering these rebates on energy efficient pool pumps as an extension of its efforts to drive greater energy savings.
SCE director of energy efficiency and solar division Gene Rodrigues said that an energy-efficient pool pump uses just half the electricity as an older model, so in just a short time the new equipment can pay for itself.
”We hope that the higher rebate will be the extra nudge customers need to upgrade to a more efficient pool pump,” Rodrigues said.
