Doosan Power Systems chief executive Jinwon Mok was quoted by the site as saying that the contract secured from Eon is a valuable reference to the company in the biomass sector, following its contracts that were secured in 2012 for the conversion of the Ironbridge power plant in the UK and the Atikokan Generation Station in Ontario, Canada.
The biomass-fired power plant will become operational in early 2015, while the upgradation at the plant will extend the plant’s operational life by 20 years.
