The new converged offering, available for schools, universities, hospitals, hotels and government facilities, will help organizations monitor and reduce energy use to free-up capital, sustain building efficiency through maintenance programs, and cut incidence and cost of equipment failures.
Schneider Electric’s building management systems, including Andover Continuum that helps monitor and control buildings’ HVAC system, humidity, lighting, access control, physical security across one or more facilities, is claimed to provide up to 30% reduction in the overall energy use.
The integration of Schneider Electric systems with IBM Green Sigma analytics, IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Energy Management, IBM Business Services Manager, and IBM Maximo Asset Management for Energy Optimization, will provide organizations with sufficient data to make informed decisions about energy use.
Additionally, new IBM and Schneider Electric smarter buildings systems will also facilitate connectivity to the smart grid for participation in electric utility demand response programs, to reduce peak power demand.
Schneider Electric vice president of global strategic alliances Chris Davis said that through partnership with IBM, the company can help more businesses capture and analyze their buildings’ data to achieve greater energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
