The solution places Echelon’s control operating system powered streetlight segment controller along with software from Streetlight.Vision in each of the 750 streetlight cabinets that control all of Oslo’s 65,000 streetlights.
The project is expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year with a planned completion date at the end of next year.
Oslo Kommune Urban Environment Agency Maintenance and Operation head the solution provided by Echelon and Streetlight.Vision enables the company to install streetlight controllers from multiple manufactures as well as different light technologies over time.
Echelon’s energy control networking technology with Streetlight.Vision’s monitoring and control software suite provides control and optimization of light switching, meters energy consumption, automatically identifies failures and anomalies on the streetlight network.
The combined solution also saves energy by dimming individual light points and segments, and provides a foundation for building out the street lighting network as a true city infrastructure.
