The solar farm received approval by the Stanislaus County planning commission on 15 September 2011, and construction of the facility is contingent on the receipt of all remaining building permits.

The power project in Modesto is expected to be completed and operational by the second half of next year.

The PV solar project will sell the elctricity generated to the utility grid operated by Modesto Irrigation District, helping the agency achieve California’s 33% renewable portfolio standard.

The plant will use the SunPower Oasis power plant product, a fully integrated, modular solar power block that is engineered to cost-effectively deploy utility-scale solar projects.

Each power block integrates the SunPower T0 Tracker with the company’s E19 solar panel, pre-manufactured system cabling, the Oasis smart inverter, and the Oasis operating system.
