The partnership between the companies will provide Surrette with lithium-polymer batteries capable of handling diesel-scale energy requirements.
Surrette president and CEO James Surrette said the partnership with Corvus Energy enhances Surrette’s product offering.
"Corvus’ large-format, lithium-polymer technology provides an alternative solution for our existing Renewable Energy and Diesel Electric Rail customers who seek a product for large-scale, scalable, high-power energy storage," Surrette said.
The modules can operate from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius and are rated to withstand shock ratings of 30G and 5 axis vibration ratings of 8G.
Corvus Energy CEO Brent Perry said the company’s AT6500 modules are capable of storing energy from 6.5kWh to megawatt scaled application and dispersing it on an as needed basis.
Since 1935, Surrette has supplied premium lead-acid batteries to a variety of markets with heavy power needs, including super yachts, locomotives and major renewable energy applications such as village electrification, the company said.
