The 9MW Brockville 2 plant is situated in the Brockville city, Eastern Ontario, Canada, while the Burritts Rapids plant totals 7MW is located in the city of Ottawa.

These 16MW projects are part of the nine solar power projects totaling 86MW that Canadian Solar Solutions has agreed to build and sell to TransCanada for around CAD470m ($454m).

Canadian Solar chairman and CEO Shawn Qu said that the company is delighted to announce the completion of the sale of these two projects, underscoring the success of our partnership with TransCanada.

"The Canadian Solar team has now taken several large solar power projects from the very initial stages of development all the way through design, engineering, construction and final sale to the end customer," Qu added.

"Our proven solar project experience, global brand, and comprehensive partner network — encompassing financing through construction – sets Canadian Solar apart and positions us as a leading provider of solar power solutions with global reach."

Under the 20-year power purchase agreements with TransCanada, Ontario Power Authority will buy power produced from the nine projects.
