A123 has connected 500kW and 125kWh GSS to the microgrid at Dongfang’s Hangzhou facility.
The site, which is currently undergoing renewable integration, is co-located with wind, PV, and conventional generation resources, according to A123.
The HR GSS will accommodate fluctuations in variable energy resources such as wind or solar, and also can be used to improve the efficiency of traditional thermal generators.
A123 Energy Solutions president Bud Collins said the GSS allowed the company with major modifications or special considerations around the building.
"In addition, our AEROS control software, developed solely by A123 Energy, allows our customer to use the storage system to manage its renewable and conventional generation, optimizing energy usage for the site," Collins added.
