The agreements were signed earlier by NV Energy for new solar projects which are planned to be built in Nevada.
NV Energy president and CEO Paul Caudill said that the projects include the largest solar array with 50MW capacity in Northern Nevada.
"These new projects signal an important step toward NV Energy's commitment to partner with our customers in order to serve them with 100% renewable energy.
“Equally important to the low-cost solar energy being added to our customers' portfolio, these projects benefit Nevada's working families and provide another opportunity for our construction trade partners to gain skills in the renewable industry," Caudill added.
One of the three solar projects includes the 50MW Turquoise Nevada which is planned to be constructed in the Reno Technology Park in Washoe County, Nevada.
Scheduled to be completed in 20202, the project is a venture of Estuary Capital Advisors and Sumitomo Corporation of Americas. If approved, the solar plant will benefit from 25-year PPA with NV Energy.
The other two projects include Techren Solar 3 and 4 schemes, each with a power generation capacity of 25MW.
The Techren Solar 3 and 4, which are planned to be built in Southern and Northern Nevada respectively, will be commissioned in 2020, if approved.
Separately, NV Energy said it is seeking approval from the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada to utilize the NV GreenEnergy Rider program to help a major customer to offset their energy usage using renewable resources.
