Dong Energy has set the indicative price range for the IPO at DKK200 to DKK255 and plans to get listed on the exchange on 9 June. The price band would give a market valuation of between $12.55bn-$16bn for the company.
The company had called off its IPO plans few times in the past due to various reasons, including uncertainty in the stock markets.
The Kingdom of Denmark, a majority shareholder in the company, plans to offload its stake partially through the IPO, while retaining 50.1% stake after the issue.
The IPO will see Dong Energy selling a stake of between 15.1% and 17.4% held by the existing shareholders. It has clarified that there will no issuance of additional stake for sale.
Dong Energy, the world’s biggest offshore wind firm developer, targets to double its installed capacity from 3.0 gigawatts in 2016 to 6.5 gigawatts by 2020.
Its current shareholders include the Kingdom of Denmark (58.8%), New Energy Investment (17.9%), SEAS-NVE Holding (10.8%), ATP (4.9%) and other shareholders (7.6%).
New Energy Investment is indirectly owned by companies operated by merchant banking division of The Goldman Sachs Group.
