Mr Mossavar-Rahmani has replaced Peter Sadler, who held the interim position of CEO since April 2007.
RAK Petroleum noted that Mr Mossavar-Rahmani is an experienced oil industry executive and also serves as chairman of the board of directors of Foxtrot International, a Franco-American oil and gas company active in West Africa.
He also served as the CEO of Mondoil Enterprises, an energy holding company in the US. He is also the founder and was the first CEO of Houston-based Apache International.
