The project involved the installation of about 2.3km of 11,000 volt underground cable between Energex’s Kirra substation in Miles Street to the main business precinct in Coolangatta, Gold Coast, Queensland.
The upgrade also provides Energex technicians with more switching options to restore power after unexpected damage to the network caused by storms, wild weather and vehicles hitting power poles or underground cables being accidentally damaged.
