The Goliat project is located in the Barent Sea northwest of Hammerfest, Norway, at about 400m water depth. The Aker Solutions alternative is reportedly based on a Condeep MonoFloater geo-stationary floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) design.
The contractor for the front-end engineering and design (FEED) phase is Aker Engineering and Technology. The engineering work has already started and is expected to continue through early autumn 2008.
