Acciona noted that the eventual contractual figure could rise to 782.5MW. The wind parks to which the turbines will be assigned could be located either in Europe or North America, solely at the discretion of EDP Renovaveis.
Acciona Windpower will supply 1.5MW wind turbines, and depending on the needs of EDP Renovaveis, 3MW machines in the 2009-11 period. Under the conditions of the contract, the total supply capacity could be extended by a further 400MW in the same period.
The contract, in addition to the supply, installation, start-up, operation and maintenance of the wind turbines, reportedly gives EDP flexibility in choosing the turbine model and class for each of its projects.
