The environmental improvement project includes the installation of a scrubber system to clean the emissions from the plant. The scrubbers are expected to remove at least 97% of sulfur dioxide from plant emissions.
PPL has said that the scrubbers will also reduce mercury and other materials, to contribute to significant improvements in environmental performance.
