ExxonMobil is planning to build the $1 billion BlueOcean Energy liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal off the New Jersey coast, which is expected to have a supply capacity of around 1.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day. This gas capacity is scheduled to meet the rising demand in New York and New Jersey.

The oil major is reportedly looking to rope in gas suppliers to secure input to the proposed terminal. Gazprom’s deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev was quoted by Itar-Tass as saying that Gazprom could either have an operator role or become an investor in the project.
