German federal law currently forbids nuclear reactors being built in the country, with little prospect of this changing however attractive the option grows in terms of improving energy supply security.

The AFX reports adds that E.ON still does not know what action the German energy regulator may take over the prices it charges users for access to its electricity grid. The regulator recently told rival player Vattenfall to reduce charges for grid access by 20%.
