A new subsea template will be installed in the south sector of the Norne reservoir to increase production. The template will be connected both to the existing subsea infrastructure and to the Norne platform through a dedicated flowline and production riser.
Aker Solutions has been awarded the contract for the execution of all topside modification work at the Norne platform to facilitate tie-in of the new production riser.
Design and procurement work will start immediately, while fabrication work is planned to start in January 2009. Offshore installation activities will start in early 2009, with project completion and start-up scheduled for November 2009. All project activities will be executed by the Aker Solutions regional office in Trondheim, Norway.
The Norne floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) is one of the platforms included in Aker Solutions’s long-term maintenance and modification contract with StatoilHydro in the Halten-Nordland area of the North Sea.
