Topaz, which was formed in 2005 as a result of private equity group Ion Equity’s acquisition of Shell and Statoil outlets in Ireland, is seeking to become a top-five brand in the next two to three years. The new ad campaign is expected to last for around four months.

Frank Gleeson, Topaz’s retail director, has stated that this campaign is expected to significantly increase the brand’s visibility. Mr Gleeson said that TV and internet will be the main focus for the campaign, while the company would run print, outdoor and radio ads too.

The creative portion of the campaign has been developed by Cawley Nea, and the slogan ‘That’s better’ has been chosen. The company decided that TV ads would feature animation and Irish company Piranha Bar has been selected to make the ads, according to the news source.

Mr Gleeson said: Our whole idea is that the Topaz brand will be on more things than just petrol stations. It is going to be on convenience stores, we are going to have Topaz water and we are going to have Topaz products and services.
