The installation for Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) is scheduled to begin in 2009 and is slated for completion by the end of 2010.
This new agreement follows a E168 million contract secured by a Prysmian-led consortium for the construction of a high-voltage underground cable system in the Middle East.
The news source said that the cable will be manufactured at Prysmian’s submarine cable plant in Arco Felice, Italy. This project forms part of the first stage of Qatar’s power transmission expansion program, which seeks to expand main transmission networks for power supply to industrial and domestic sectors.
