Muchtar was quoted by the Bisnis Indonesia newspaper as saying that both countries have decided to conduct serious discussions regarding the project, and a meeting would be conducted in June 2009.
The PLN president also asserted that a concrete agreement is likely to be signed by both the countries by the end of 2009, which will be followed by its application.
The main objective of the agreement would be tackling the power supply deficiency in certain areas by utilizing the excess in other parts of both the countries. This would be feasible through power imports and exports between Indonesia and Malaysia.
