Matthew Palmer, the project manager said that the approval includes installation of a gas pipeline that would service the plant in its operational mode. He further added that the approval is not the final one and the final permit relating to the project would be available within a month.
Conditions have been placed by the state agency, on truck deliveries during peak traffic hours, requirements for ammonia storage and water use for the operation of the plant and it has instructed its staff to draft the final permit including citing these conditions.
Palmer added that, The projects still needs a air quality permit from the state and we plan to go before the local Planning Board for local permitting shortly. Work remains on schedule for construction to begin next spring.
Pioneer Valley Energy Center stated that during the construction period of the plant, it expects to create 200 jobs.
