DONG Energy-operated Oselvar field is a good example of a development of small deposits near existing fields with good profitability, the ministry said. The project also helps to prolong the life of the BP Ula field by exploiting the capacity there, the ministry said.
The investments in the field are likely to value NOK4.6 billion.
In early 2008, the operator of production license 274, DONG E&P Norge has conducted the drilling of appraisal well 1/3-10 at the 1/3-6 discovery (Oselvar) in the southern part of the North Sea. The well confirmed oil/condensate with associated gas.
DONG Energy and Norwegian Energy Company ASA (Noreco) are also in partnership on the Nini East project in the Danish sector, where the platform has just been set up.
