Miliband has signed the agreement with Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh in the sidelines of a visit by King Abdullah II, saying UK was committed for assisting the Arab country to develop its civil nuclear program.
In March 2009 Jordan said four international companies have proposed to construct a nuclear plant in the country to help generate power and desalinate water.
Jordan’s 1.2 billion tonnes of phosphate reserves are estimated to have 130,000 tonnes of uranium, whose enriched form provides fuel for nuclear plants.
