Michael Scholz, chief executive officer of EnerVest is of the opinion that the Benelux countries offer optimal conditions for the production of energy from wind. Michael Scholz explains the engagement of EnerVest saying: “Notwithstanding these countries offer ideal economic conditions and a solid legal framework, wind-energy was more or less neglected in the past in several regions.” In fact, in the matter of wind energy the Benelux countries compare unfavorably with some leading European Wind nations such as Denmark, Spain and Germany. “Currently great efforts are undertaken to catch up in terms of wind-energy. For EnerVest, this was a good chance to access another European growth market.”
