The utility anticipates launching another renewable solicitation later this summer for solar photovoltaic projects that will complement SCE’s 250-megawatt rooftop solar installation program.

“We believe an open, fair, and transparent solicitation for capacity and energy from independent suppliers is one of the most effective ways to build our future portfolio,” said Kevin Cini, SCE vice president, energy supply and management.

Last week, SCE announced a solicitation that seeks short-term and long-term contracts for projects powered by solar, wind, biomass, biogas, small hydro, and geothermal fuels to expand its portfolio of renewable power.
