It was suggested to promote energy-efficient buildings so that the conservation could get impetus. A proposal was also mooted to start the exercise from the Delhi Secretariat.
The BEE has also stressed upon the need for bio-gas generation from the kitchen waste. This project has been taken up as a pilot project in Tihar jail.
The government may take up the proposed project in other buildings and pursue the five-star hotels to follow it.
A concept relating to the use of white roof was also discussed in the meeting. White roof will reflect a large fraction of the incoming solar heat which may result in reduction in roof temperature.
