The company claims that by choosing it as their energy supplier, residential and small business customers have the option to select environmentally friendly wind and hydro power as their energy source.
ConEdison Solutions’ “Green Power” offering is fully offset by renewable resources, consisting of 35% wind power and 65% run-of-the-river hydro that is generated in the New York region and delivered to the electric grid by Community Energy.

ConEdison Solutions customers can lock-in a one-year contract to purchase Green Power at 9.9 cents per kilowatt hour. By comparison, O&R is charging 10.7 cents per kilowatt hour for energy generated by conventional means such as coal, gas, large hydro, and nuclear power plants, ConEdison stated.
According to the company, instead of drawing on traditional energy supplies, local residents and businesses purchasing green power contribute pollution-free electricity to the electricity grid, which displaces power that would have otherwise been produced from non-renewable sources.
In addition, for a typical O&R residential customer, switching to Green Power is the equivalent of offsetting 8,400 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.
