The Greenfield facility, which is a 50-50 joint venture between Calpine and Mitsui, is a combined-cycle power generation plant that is designed to meet the demand for electricity in Ontario.
The 1,005MW plant is located in Courtright, near Sarnia, Ontario. The units 1-3 are three combustion turbines and the unit 4 is a steam turbine.
The Greenfield facility is operated under a power supply agreement of 20-years with the Ontario Power Authority.
Calpine owns, leases and operates low-carbon, natural gas-fired and renewable geothermal power plants.
