Siemens Energy is erecting the gas-fired plant for E.ON as a turnkey project. The installed gross capacity of the Malzenice combined cycle power plant would be 430MW, which is said to be sufficient to supply approximately 600,000 households with eco-friendly electricity.
Rainer Hauenschild, CEO of the energy solutions business unit of Siemens Energy, said: “This plant will feature gas turbine technology that not only has a proven track record worldwide but that has also practically become a tradition in the partnership between E.ON and Siemens.
“The power plant’s efficiency of approximately 58% is today a top world ranking. This plant will thus make an important contribution toward reliable, cost-effective and eco-friendly power supply in Slovakia.”
The new SCC5-4000F 1 S power plant is a single-shaft configuration, in which the main components – gas turbine, steam turbine and generator, are arranged on a single line of shafting.
In addition to turnkey erection, Siemens will also supply an SGT5-4000F gas turbine, an SST5-5000 steam turbine, the generator, and the entire electrical and instrumentation & control equipment. Siemens Austria will provide support for execution of the civil works.
