These lands are on the southern boundary of the lands the company acquired in July last year and the 3D seismic program conducted in early 2011.
The company said it believes that there are extensions of reserves identified in the seismic and the reserves assessment and evaluation of the new or previously unevaluated Trout Core oil properties of the company.
Cougar focuses on the exploration and development of Canadian onshore oil and gas assets, and its current projects are Lucy in the Horn River Basin in northeast British Columbia and First Nation joint ventures and Trout Core projects located in north central Alberta.
