The new office in Tokyo, Japan, is the institute’s first in Asia and will help it expand its involvement with some of the region’s leading capture technology developers.
Australian minister for resources and energy Martin Ferguson is quoted by investinaustralia.com as saying that the institute has accomplished a great deal in promoting knowledge sharing between countries and promoting the commercial scale deployment of CCS across the globe in just over two years of its operation.
"An idea that took shape in Australia now has a visible presence here in Japan," Ferguson said.
The new office builds on the Global CCS Institute’s presence in Europe and North America.
