The wind power project is located in the municipalities of Saint-Luc-de-Bellechasse and Saint-Magloire in the MRC des Etchemins and in the municipalities of Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice-de-Buckland and Saint-Philemon in the MRC de Bellechasse.
Turbine manufacturer REpower will deliver 75 wind turbines rated at 2MW each, while LM Wind Power will supply the blades from their Gaspe plant.
Towers will be produced at Marmen’s Matane and Trois-Rivieres plants, and SEG Woodward will assemble the electrical converters in New Richmond.
The wind project, valued at about $350m, will produce green energy to power the equivalent of over 30,000 Quebec homes.
