KDC Solar signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract with SunDurance Energy to design, install, own and operate the project for County of Middlesex in North Brunswick Township.
The company has also signed a contract with Solar Power to provide certain construction management services and financing and to supply about 26,000 high efficiency panels produced by LDK Solar.
Construction on the solar power project is subject to securing the necessary permits, and is scheduled to start early next year.
The project is expected to be fully operational in the third or fourth quarter of next year.
As presently designed, the solar facility will generate about 8,450,000kWh of solar electricity per year and supply the electric power needs for site facilities.
Once operational, savings from the project for Middlesex County will increase from $725,000 to $1.15m annually over the 15-year term of the power purchase agreement.
SunDurance is a solar energy company that develops, designs, builds and operates megawatt-scale solar power solutions.
