The company produced 222,000 ounces of gold from continuing operations, while it produced 188,000 ounces in the second quarter of 2011.
It produced 1.2 million kilograms of niobium from continuing operations as compared with 1.1 million kilograms produced in the second quarter of 2011 and the third quarter of 2010.
IAMGOLD president and CEO Steve Letwin said that the performance of assets where the company is the principal owner and operator has greatly improved this quarter, specifically at the Rosebel mine in Suriname and the Essakane mine in Burkina Faso.
"With our outlook for a strong fourth quarter, we expect 2011 attributable gold production from continuing operations to be within our guidance range of 870,000 to 930,000 ounces," Letwin said.
