During the drilling program, the company probed 31 different sites, drilling 3,437ft, and obtaining 46 samples from various discrete intervals.

Brines were encountered in 23 of the 46 samples taken, with another four samples being classified as almost brine and a further three samples being brackish water, and the rest of the samples were fresh water.

The deepest hole drilled during the program was 155ft subsurface and sampling depths ranged from 32ft to 125ft subsurface.

The average sample depth was about 68ft subsurface, and temperature anomalies were noted during the course of the program which may be indicative of proximity to faults carrying geothermal fluids, a component necessary for the formation of a silver peak type lithium-brine deposit.

Brines have now been recovered in this area from depths ranging from the immediate subsurface to 125ft depth, the company said.
