Under the $1.4m contract, Petrofac will overlook Petrofac’s plant asset management arm and play a vital role in the Queensland Curtis Liquefied Natural Gas Project (QCLNG).

The work management systems (WMS) development & implementation contract is the first to be secured along with a local partner Sharp Business Solutions.

The QCLNG is the Queensland Gas Company’s project for the development of upstream coal seam gas; pipeline infrastructure; central processing units; and a two train liquefaction facility on Curtis Island.

Under the terms of the contract, Petrofac will build the WMS for the liquefaction facility.

Plant Asset Management arm will lead the development of the WMS through a structured process.

The process includes the asset register development, optimized maintenance and inspection programmes, repair strategies and spares requirements, computerized maintenance management system development and alignment with BG Group’s global WMS standard.

The project is due for completion in late 2012.
