The grid-connected power plant, which includes 16 turbines, is now operating for 11 years as a demonstrator project.

The facility is housed within a breakwater at the Spanish port of Mutriku and has been designed for a 25-year operational life.

The company has handed over the facility to Ente Vasco de la Energía, the Basque Energy Board in the north of Spain.
