The company has purchased Solar Power Partners’ 30MW of distributed solar projects in operation or under construction, and it will also secure development rights to the company’s pipeline of development projects.
NRG Energy said that Solar Power Partners will become an integral part of its subsidiary NRG Solar, which has more than 2,000MW of solar projects under development or in construction across the southwestern US.
Solar Power Partners president and CEO Bob Powell said the combined platform will now allow the company to accelerate its growth and to bring more clean solar power to the market.
