The company will deliver a spray dry absorber (SDA) system and a pulse jet fabric filter baghouse for Interstate Power and Light Co’s Ottumwa Generating Station in Ottumwa, Iowa.
The SDA system will control sulfur dioxide and the baghouse will control particulate emissions from the coal-fired plant.
The company has begun engineering work for the project and start-up is anticipated for May 2014.
B&W PGG president and chief operating officer Richard Killion said new federal regulations, including the cross-state air pollution rule, have created a need for efficient and effective emissions control technology.
