The 10-acre location is more than the projected footprint required for a waste railroad tie to electricity facility, located at the Duagh plant facility of GESI’s partner On-Track Railway Operations outside of Edmonton Alberta.
In the Industrial Heartland of Alberta, there are already over half a million rail ties readily available for use as feedstock by GESI.
The Duagh site offers about 104 acres, and in excess of 7,000 feet of industrial railway lines on site. The site is particularly well suited for the construction and placement of GESI’s electricity generation facility due to nearby grid tie in locations, the ready and ongoing supply of feedstock, existing permitting, rail tracks, highway locations, and industrial ability on the site, the company said.
GESI plans to use the rail ties as the main component feedstock for the generation of electricity, with a projected 20MW power output.
