The cable system will have a capacity to transport 2x660MW of power at a voltage level of 300kV across a distance of about 200km between Barkaryd and Hurva in southern Sweden.
ABB will be responsible for the design, engineering, manufacture, supply and installation of the entire cable system, including terminations, joints and other accessories.
The underground cable link is expected to be completed in 2014.
